What to Expect

This outdoor experience features three short walks, ranging from very easy to more challenging, so there’s something for everyone. We’ll also enjoy a special lunch in the scenic mountain setting.

Transportation Details

We’re using two buses with separate pick-up points:

• San Fernando Valley: Bus departs at 8:00 AM (must arrive no later than 7:45 AM)
• Temple City: Bus departs at 8:20 AM (must arrive no later than 8:05 AM)

Exact pick-up addresses will be shared after your RSVP is received.

Prefer to meet us there?

Be at Crystal Lake Campground / Recreation Area by 10:00 AM.

What to Bring

• Your own folding, beach, or camping chair—anything portable and not too bulky. Seating at the picnic area is limited, and the walk from the bus is short.
• At least 34 oz (1 liter) of water in a refillable bottle to stay hydrated at higher elevation.

Sighted Guides Needed!

We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to guide our visually impaired participants (VIPs) and help them experience the outdoors with confidence!

No experience is required—we’ll provide a brief orientation.
HFS’s goal is to provide one sighted guide per VIP participant to ensure everyone can fully participate and enjoy the day.
