Event Details:
Join Hearts For Sight (HFS) and the Sierra Club for an accessible hike along the northern trails of Griffith Park. This outing is open to all fitness levels, including both gentle and more challenging hikers. The route features smooth, wide paved paths and offers two options so you can choose what works best for you:
• A 5-mile hike with about 600 feet of elevation gain
• A shorter 1.5-mile option with about 225 feet of elevation gain
During the 90-minute ascent, participants may choose between a steady-paced group or a more challenging group. Both groups will rejoin for the descent.
Schedule
• 8:30 AM: Check-in at the meeting location
• 9:00 AM: Trailhead Talk (brief orientation)
• 9:15 AM: Hike begins
• 12:30 – 1:00 PM: Return to Travel Town Museum (depending on which hike you join), followed by lunch
Access Services pickups should be scheduled no earlier than 1:00 PM (if skipping lunch) and no later than 2:00–2:30 PM for those staying for lunch.
Important Notes
• The hike will be canceled in case of rain. Participants will be notified promptly.
• Lunch will be provided after the hike.
• RSVP is required no later than Thursday, February 12 at 5:00 PM.
Sighted Guides Needed
- Our hikes are designed to connect visually impaired participants (VIPs) with outdoor experiences. We rely on sighted guides to help make these events accessible and safe.
- No prior experience required. Training will be provided.
- For first-time guides, please contact Racquel Decipeda at 818.457.1482 for a brief orientation.
