Join Us at the Hearts For Sight Community Garden
We are excited to announce a new program- the opening of the Hearts For Sight Community Garden!!!
Join us in this unique collaboration between Hearts For Sight, John Milton Manor, and generous funding by the Adams Legacy Foundation. Designed specifically for the visually impaired community, our garden is a sanctuary of growth and learning that is 100% accessible to all.
Garden Features:
- Accessibility: Fully equipped with raised beds and tailored features ensuring ease of access and enjoyment for everyone, regardless of visual or physical ability.
- Educational Opportunities: Under the guidance of Mercedes, our Master Gardener, we are proud to offer a curriculum centered on sustainability and practical gardening skills.
- Biweekly Lessons: Join us every other Friday to learn and grow. Dive into the world of gardening through hands-on experiences that are as enriching as they are educational.
- First lesson is scheduled this week, Friday, May 24 at 2:00 to 3:30 pm. This educational sessions will be held both in person and via zoom to accommodate those who can’t physically make it to the community garden, but will like the educational experience. We are learning the following: garden rules and roles, getting acquainted where things are in the garden, and seed starting.
