Scenic Hike at Crystal Cove’s El Moro Canyon!

Explore the peaceful beauty of Southern Orange County as we hike through Crystal Cove’s El Moro Canyon. This trail, nestled close to the ocean and surrounded by birdlife, offers a serene experience for nature lovers.
Hike Details:
- Location: Crystal Cove State Park, El Moro Canyon
- Difficulty: Moderate to challenging
- The trail includes a gradual climb and a steep descent, so please wear sturdy footwear with good tread.
- Trekking poles are recommended if you have them.
- Distance & Elevation Gain: Approximately 3 miles with nearly 500 feet of elevation gain.
- Front Country Hike: Rain cancels.
After the hike, we’ll unwind with a picnic lunch provided by Hearts for Sight!
What to Bring:
- Comfortable hiking shoes with good tread
- Trekking poles (if available)
- Dress in layers, as the weather may vary from cool to warm
- Plenty of water and any extra snacks you’d like
Transportation:
Hearts for Sight will provide bus transportation to Crystal Cove. Pickup locations will be shared upon receipt of your RSVP. You may also drive directly to Crystal Cove to meet the group there, but please RSVP regardless.
Calling All Sighted Guides:
HFS hiking events offer visually impaired (VIP) participants the chance to experience nature, and we rely on sighted guides to make it possible. We welcome both new and experienced volunteers! No prior guiding experience is required—just a willingness to assist. If this is your first time volunteering with HFS or guiding, please contact Racquel at 818-457-1482 to arrange a brief training session.
