Are you eager to achieve your fitness goals, whether it’s losing weight, building strength, enhancing balance, or simply feel better through a regular exercise practice? if you want a foundation for any of these and more, look no further.! Hearts for Sight is thrilled to introduce our Beginners Core Fitness Class.

About the Class:

Led by Alexis Chen, a Certified Personal Trainer and Fitness Nutrition Specialist, this class is designed especially for individuals living with visual impairments. We believe everyone deserves access to effective fitness programs, and this class is tailored to ensure just that!

Why Core Fitness?

A strong, limber, balanced core underpins so much of what we find ourselves needing to do and wanting to do. From sitting still to getting around to being as active as we desire. Enabling a lifestyle that supports vital metabolic health.

The integrated resistance/flexibility training of the core musculature includes sections of heart-pumping aerobic pacing. It’s a fantastic way to boost overall health, burn calories, and have fun while doing it!

Class Details:

  • Duration: 10-week program
  • Group Size: Limited to 6 participants
  • Schedule: Wednesdays, 11:15 AM to 12:15 PM
  • Platform: Zoom

What to Expect:

While this class caters to beginners, expect engaging workouts designed to challenge you at a manageable intensity. With motivation from both your peers and coach, you’ll stay on track toward your fitness goals.

Equipment and Setup: To participate effectively, you’ll need:

  • Yoga/exercise mat
  • Stretching strap (i.e., the belt from a bathrobe)
  • Water bottle

Along the way we may add other resistance tools in accordance with participants’ progress and need for challenge.

Don’t worry if you lack equipment; we can assist with purchases via Amazon.

For optimal instruction, we encourage keeping your camera on during class.

Cost:

This class operates on a donation basis, with a suggested contribution of $5 per class. We’re open to discussing suitable options for all participants.
